Iowa Supreme Court justices to visit UNI
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Forensics teams and the League of Women Voters of Black Hawk County will host members of the Iowa Supreme Court from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, in Schindler Education Center, Room 252.
The Iowa Supreme Court is the highest court in the Iowa state court system, and is responsible for the rules of procedure and practice throughout the other state courts. "I think that it's critical for the justices to visit UNI because the Supreme Court is the branch of government that we probably know the least about, but is critical to interpreting and upholding laws that affect our everyday lives," said Kate Lavelle, assistant professor of communication studies.
The event is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact Lavelle at 319-273-7200 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
